Limit your intake of food and drink 4 hours prior to your exam, by only having clear liquid drinks. The exam will be done in two parts: first in our x-ray room, then after a brief rest, a CT scan will be done. The entire process may take up to 5 hours, due to the need for an extended recovery period. You cannot drive home or return to work. We ask that you remain in bed with your head elevated for about 8 hours. We also advise you drink plenty of fluids.
